Oliver Springs Historical Society
721 Main Street
Oliver Springs, Tennessee 37840

Welcome to the O.S.Historical Society home page.

We hope you will be able to visit us in person, but until that time here is some information about the Society, its activities, Oliver Springs'  history and other general information.

Oliver Springs, Tennessee is a town rich with history. Nestled in a natural gap at the foot of the majestic Cumberland mountain range and blessed with huge natural resources,  Oliver Springs traces its roots from the Native American cultures who were drawn to the varied mineral springs, to the hardy frontiersmen expanding westward from the original colonies, to wealthy industrialists who transformed this area into a mecca of healing waters. Ornate Victorian mansions, mystery, intrigue; it's all here.

The Mission of the O.S.H.S. is to preserve and promote the buildings, documents and artifacts of the general area.  Toward this objective, a 100 year-old depot has been purchased, relocated, and remade into a Library and Museum.  This is an on-going project, with frequent new additions, including a caboose, ticket booth, etc.

Do you have old pictures or artifacts of our town and/or its people? If so, pleeeeaase share them with us! It is so easy to scan a picture and e-mail it, thereby ensuring that it will be archived and documented for future generations to enjoy and study. Need help scanning? Write or e-mail me and I will be glad to assist you.
